Since 1998, Sue Oakey-Baker has successfully guided more than 180 people – ages 16 to 85 – to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro for Ascent for Alzheimer’s.

Oakey-Baker has mountaineered, climbed, ski toured and hiked all over the world. She is certified through the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and runs her own company, North Star Adventures.

Our guide lives in Whistler, B.C., with her husband and son. She teaches outdoor education to youth and paints whenever she can. Her first book, Finding Jim, was published in October 2013 by Rocky Mountain Books.
